Using an IPTV Player for the First Time

When you first login to your IPTV Player, the amount of content can be overwhelming. Take your time to familiarise yourself with whatever IPTV player you have selected.

The content will be set out in three main sections: Live TV Channels, Movies, and TV Series.

Each will have a list of folders. Near the top will be All and Favourites. Once loaded, the “All” folders will list every tv channel, all available videos, and all tv series. This folder is good for searches.

Live TV Channels

Where available, the same tv channels are offered in various picture quality streaming. These include RAW, HEVC, 4K, FHD, HD and SD.

Picture Quality

  • RAW refers to an image that is uncompressed and unprocessed, preserving the highest possible level of detail. RAW files are very large in size.
  • HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) quality picture refers to a compressed video image that allows for significantly smaller file sizes while maintaining high visual quality compared to older compression methods, essentially delivering a sharp, detailed picture with less data needed to display it. HEVC supports 8K resolution.
  • 4K refers to an image with a resolution of approximately 3840 x 2160 pixels, which means it has four times the number of pixels compared to a standard HD picture.
  • FHD is the resolution currently found on most televisions, Blu-ray players, and video content. The image is 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high (2.07 megapixels). Full HD is also referred to as 1080i and 1080p.
  • HD stands for “high definition” and includes resolutions at or above 720p.
  • SD stands for “standard definition” and includes resolutions at or below 480p.

 

VODs (Videos on-demand)

Movies and TV Series are collectively known as VODs. These are listed in various languages.
In Movies, there is a TOP Movies Bluray (Multi-Subs) and Top Kids Bluray (Multi-Subs) folders. Also, there are EN New Releases and EN Kids plus other sub-genres.

Selecting a folder you have four viewing options: Top Added, Top Rated, Ascending Order (A-Z), and Descending (Z-A).
Depending on the IPTV player, you may have the option to select Order by added date. This is particularly useful once you have reviewed the VODs and just want to browse which new titles have been added since you last looked.

Movies

The following folders may well be your most commonly used:
• Top Movies Bluray (Multi-Subs)
• Top Kids Bluray (Multi-Subs)
• EN New Release
• EN 2020 & Old

Browse the vast content library and when you find a movie you want, hold down the main button on your remote. This will add a heart to the image title and add the movie to your Favourites folder.  If you have opened the title to see more information, simply click on the heart graphic (top right). It will turn red.

Once you have started a VOD you will see a list of icons below the screen.
From left to right these are: Play, Volume, Zoom, Aspect Ratio, Subtitles, Audio Tracks, Full Screen

Movie Viewing Options

Where available, subtitles and audio tracks are offered in multi languages.  If the VOD doesn’t start with the settings you require, you can make changes.

Please note: changes to the audio track or subtitles isn’t always instantaneous.  Leave for at least 10 seconds before trying again.

TV Series

Similarly, All and Favourite folders are at the top of the list of TV Series menu. Other useful folders include English Series and English Kids.
